Although we try to save natural teeth whenever possible, oral surgery in Anoka is sometimes necessary. When it is, you can trust the team at Keller and Vasko Dentistry. Your smile is in good hands with us! Your dentists have performed countless surgeries between them. Plus, we make sure you are comfortable throughout the entire procedure. You can expect:
Call 763-401-6430 for an appointment.
A dental extraction is never our first option. Before removing any teeth, we’ll perform a thorough exam and take digital X-rays. If possible, we’ll recommend another procedure to keep your natural teeth intact. For example, if you have an infected tooth, we can perform a root canal. A dental crown can often restore even a severely damaged tooth.
However, we may determine a tooth removal is the best way to protect your smile. If it is, your dentist will gently extract it after thoroughly numbing your mouth. You can also receive sedation if you nervous or worried about discomfort.
Once your tooth has been extracted, your dentist will discuss your tooth replacement options. We offer:
If you’d like to have a strong foundation for your new teeth, we’ll refer you to a trusted local oral surgeon to place dental implants. You’ll return to our office for your replacement teeth. We’ll make sure the entire process goes smoothly.

I was in extreme pain and I was taken care of immediately by Dr Vasko. Everyone was very friendly, wonder, and helpful. I highly recommend her. She even followed up with me after the fact. How many doctors do you know would do that. Very impressed. Thank you all for your wonderful care.
I was referred to Dr. Keller by a friend to address some damage caused by another dentist and neglect from years of dental phobia. He was amazing! He listened to my concerns and handled my fear with such kindness. He went out of his way to correct the damage and for the first time in 15 years, I am able to smile with confidence. His entire team is beyond friendly and welcoming. I can’t say enough wonderful things about these people. I truly wish I could give them more than 5 stars
Many people do feel soreness after oral surgery, but that fades as you recover. If anything, oral surgery is done to alleviate pain and long-term oral health problems. Our dental professionals will be happy to advise you on the best way to recover from your surgery, so you can get back to feeling like yourself as soon as possible.
For the first 24 hours after oral surgery, you shouldn’t attempt any sort of exercise. Doing too much too soon can cause problems. For example, strenuous exercise could loosen the blood clot on a tooth extraction site and cause a painful dry socket. After the first day, limit your exercise to low-impact activities for a few more days to be on the safe side.
The type of oral surgery you have will ultimately determine how much discomfort you feel, but rest assured our goal is always to provide the most comfortable dental care we can. For most of the oral surgery procedures we perform, over-the-counter pain relievers will take care of any discomfort. If needed, your dentist can prescribe something stronger to help you through the healing process.
